Screening & Discussion of Film Common Ground In-Person

Common Ground Film Screening & Response
Please join us for a screening of the film Common Ground https://commongroundfilm.org/ and a response from a panel of local, state, and national stakeholders.
This film brings to life the world of farming and its relationship to the health of the natural world. Farming is an enormous industry in size and importance, and not surprisingly it has an enormous impact on our environment. Common Ground explores the techniques of Regenerative Farming and how they can be used as a force for good. Through a revival of some old farming methods combined with new understanding, regenerative farming can increase farm yields with less pesticide and fertilizer use and still produce more and better crops. These methods include no-till farming, crop rotation, integration of grazing animals into farmlands and more, resulting in healthier soil, healthier food, and a healthier planet.
Please join us for a viewing of this inspiring film and a panel discussion with local experts who will help us to understand how we can support healthy farming in our area and in our own yards and gardens.
Speakers include: Jamie Pacheco from the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust https://www.btlt.org/, Timothy Boston from Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) https://www.mofga.org/, Matt Newberg from the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust https://hhltmaine.org/ and Sam Saltonstall from Citizen's Climate Lobby & Education https://citizensclimateeducation.org/. Bring your questions, learn about meaningful actions you can take, and leave inspired.
