Sustainable Brunswick: Citizen, Business and Municipal-Led Climate Action in Brunswick, Maine In-Person

Join us for the second presentation in our monthly “Sustainable Brunswick” series, a collaboration between the Town of Brunswick and Curtis Memorial Library. This month we'll hear from local citizens, a local business, and the Town.  All are working to support climate action in complementary ways. First, our Town’s Environmental Planner, Ashley Charleson, will share important information concerning  the upcoming opportunity for public input at Climate Action Workshop #2. This workshop, to be held at the Coffin School on March 7th from 6-8pm, will focus on specific actions and strategies for potential inclusion in Brunswick’s Climate Action Plan; learn about what actions the Town could possibly pursue, how they may affect you, and how you can be part of the decision-making process by attending the workshop. Next, hear from Peggy Siegle of the business “Sustainable Practice” as she shares what science-based resources are available for informing your everyday decisions concerning local climate action. With over 30 years of experience in action, Sustainable Practice will review examples of strategies, related to energy, food, water, goods, movement, habitat, and community, effectively mirroring what life implementing a climate action plan locally could look like! Attendees will also receive free printed copies of the Sustainable Practice guidebook to use and share with colleagues, friends, and family.
