Lunchtime Discussions on Death and Dying

Lunchtime Discussions on Death and Dying In-Person

This new, monthly series aims to offer information and exploration of options and considerations around the processes of preparing to die, and dying itself. Learning about and exploring these topics as a group reminds us that we are not alone, and it gives us the opportunity to share our perspectives and ask questions together, as we plan for our inevitable exit.

Tuesday, January 23: Legal and Financial Considerations:  Attorney Suzanne Johnson will discuss Advance Health Care Directives, Wills, Powers of Attorneys and uses of trusts, designation of beneficiaries and how accounts are held.

Tuesday, February 27: Death Guides / Death Doulas: Join us for a conversation with INELDA-certified (International End of Life Doula Associaion) death guide Andrews “Bones” Nelson and her apprentice Grace. They will explain how death guides, or “doulas “ can guide you through a life review, create a legacy project, plan a vigil, discover ritual and plan for a good death. You don't even have to be the one who's dying to benefit from these services. For more information on INELDA, visit https://inelda.org/. For more Information on Mol Bones, visit https://mollybones.com/death-doula/

Tuesday, March 26: Online Accounts and Property: Join us for a discussion on how to prepare your online accounts and insure all your photos and documents are protected and preserved. Learn how to create an inheritance place for your social media, or cloud accounts either through memorializing the account or creating an inheritor. Learn about new complications like digitial property like Cryptocurrency, NFTs or AI impersonations.
