Join us for a presentation by Jon Wallace currently a NASA Solar System Ambassador and former science teacher. He will be introducing us to Micrometeorites, shedding light on their origins, composition, and significance in scientific research. Learn how these minuscule cosmic particles, smaller than a grain of sand, traverse vast distances through the vacuum of space before reaching Earth's atmosphere.
Furthermore, we'll explore the methods used by scientists to identify and collect micrometeorites, highlighting the challenges and breakthroughs in this field of study. See examples of many of the micrometeorites Jon has found right here in Brunswick, and learn how you can begin the hunt as well. There will be time for questions after the presentation.
