Join us for an evening of local author literature!
Helene McGlauflin, MEd., is a writer and retired educator. Her articles, stories and poems have appeared in books, small presses, magazines and professional journals. Solstice is Helene’s third collection of poetry, preceded by Tiny Sabbath (2010) and Teacher, I Honor You (2016) both published by Finishing Line Press. She is also the author of Calm and Alert: Yoga and Mindfulness Practices to Teach Self-regulation and Social Skills to Children (2018: PESI Publishing) her legacy from a long career as a school counselor and yoga teacher. Denis LeDoux is a memoir and fiction writer, ghostwriter, writing coach, editor and book producer based Lisbon Falls, Maine. Since 1989, he has helped thousands of people to write their memoirs. He won Maine Writing Fellowships in 1991 and 1996, and his collection of short stories, Mountain Dance was chosen for the 1990 Maine Fiction award. He holds a B.A (English Literature) and an M.A (Secondary education). His memoir titles include We Were Not Spoiled/A Franco-American Memoir (2014), A Sugary Frosting (2016), My Eye Fell Into the Soup (2017, and French Boy (2023). His memoir how-to, Turning Memories Into Memoirs/A Handbook for Writing Lifestories (1992, 1998, 2006) is a classic in its genre. He is currently at work on finishing an account of his early Canadian ancestors. Here to Stay/Life in Seventeenth-Century, New France will be published in the spring.
