Reflections on Homesteading in Maine In-Person

Hear from local contributors to The Organic Farming Revolution: Past, Present, Future.

In partnership with Curtis Memorial Library, the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association is celebrating the recent release of its 50th anniversary book, “The Organic Farming Revolution: Past, Present and Future.” Join us for Reflections on Homesteading in Maine, an evening with contributing writers Karyn Lie-Nielsen and Kirsten Lie-Nielsen. Facilitated by MOFGA’s executive director, Sarah Alexander, the discussion will center around the homesteading experiences of both Karyn and Kirsten as they compare notes on their respective experiences in Maine over the last several decades, including challenges, lessons learned and rewards.

Reviewing the journey in organic farming of the past half-century and looking forward to new challenges and opportunities, The Organic Farming Revolution presents a collection of essays by prominent individuals involved in MOFGA’s evolution as a leader in the organic movement as well as important voices in national discussions about sustainability, food resources, soil preservation, young farmers, and the intersection of organic farming and human health.  Learn more about the book here: https://store.mofga.org/collections/great-gifts-for-all/products/the-organic-farming-revolution-past-present-future
