Space Availability - Curtis Rooms

Our largest room seating up to 140 with surround sound system and video projector, Blu-Ray player, microphones, nearby restrooms, kitchen access, and separate entrance for before/after hours use.

The AV system is self-serve and a library staff person will not be available to run AV for your event. There is no computer in the room- there is a podium with both HDMI and VGA outputs. If your laptop does not have either of these inputs, you will need to bring an adapter. You may arrange a brief training prior to your event (at a time when the room is available) on the system by emailing us at helpdesk@curtislibrary.com

Hours available: 7am - 11:59pm, 7 days/week. Please note: for bookings that fall outside of normal library hours, you will need to arrange for a walkthrough on opening/closing the room and discuss pickup/dropoff of a key.

*Please make sure to include setup and teardown time when you are requesting a booking for this room. If it is an event that is open to the public, please indicate on the booking form what the event start and end times will be, if you have included setup/teardown time in your room booking.*

If you will have food and drinks (no alcoholic beverages are allowed) at your event, you must bag up food/drink trash and take offsite.

Non-admission Event – General Use Fee: $25/hour of reserved time with a minimum of $40. This applies to activities or events that do not involve any registration fee or admission, and are not intended for fundraising purposes.

Admission-based or Fundraising Event Fee: $35/hour of reserved time with a minimum of $50. This covers activities or events for which an admission or registration fee is charged, or which are intended as fundraisers.

Fees are due before the start of the event, and can be paid with cash/check at the 2nd floor Help Desk, or with a credit card at the 1st floor Lending Desk. Refunds may be issued if the room booking is cancelled more than 24 hours before the booking start time. Cancellations within the 24 hour window will not be issued refunds.

Please note: the piano that is usually in the room is owned by Bowdoin College and is on loan to Curtis specifically for Curtis-hosted community concerts. The piano is not available for general use, even with paid room bookings. If you would like to host a performance using the piano, please contact Wynter Giddings at wgiddings@curtislibrary.com to discuss this, before submitting a booking request. The piano routinely leaves Curtis during the summer months, for the Bowdoin International Music Festival.
