The Seminar Rooms are located on the second floor, near the Help Desk and public computers. To reserve a seminar room, patrons must have a Curtis Memorial Library card.
All reservable rooms at Curtis Memorial Library are prioritized for library and Town programs (including the Towns of Brunswick and Harpswell). When available, rooms may be reserved for public use.
Public use is limited to:
- Community nonprofit organizations or businesses based in Brunswick or Harpswell, for noncommercial purposes
- Nonprofit organizations whose target audience includes Brunswick or Harpswell residents
Nonprofit organizations headquartered outside Brunswick or Harpswell may also reserve a room if they serve these communities. In such cases, a Brunswick or Harpswell resident affiliated with the organization must be listed as the local contact.
Seminar Room 205 has two large tables and seats up to 20 (10-12 around tables)
Seminar Room 206 has a smartboard (a large internet-connected touch screen that you can project to from a laptop or mobile device) and a phone. ***Please note that the smartboard requires a HDMI input on your device. If your device does not have an HDMI port, you must bring your own adapter. We cannot guarantee we will have the correct adapter for your device and our adapters frequently go missing. If you have never used the smartboard with your device, you can schedule a quick run-thru to check compatibilty with your device by calling the Help Desk at 725-5242 option 4. *** The room seats up to 15 people (10 around table).
Access only during library hours, no earlier than 9:00 am and no later than 15 minutes before closing. Fee: Donation.
The Library has an assistive listening device kit that can be used in these rooms, if you have participants in your group who need it. The kit consists of a microphone (it sits on the table and picks up sounds from around the room) which connects to a portable transmitter, and four portable receivers, which can be connected to headphones (included), or t-coil neck loops (included, which can be used with t-coil hearing aids). If you wish to use the kit, please ask the reference desk staff to set it up, before the start of your meeting.
